Interview of Aleksey Malyshev

Could you introduce yourself a little, talk a bit about your background?

My name is Aleksey Malyshev. I am 33 years old. I was born in Ivanovo, a city in central Russia, and I still live there.

When, how and why did you begin to make photography?

I became interested in photography there about 3 years. Until then I had a vague idea about photography. I knew how to manipulate the compact camera only (in Russian "mylnitsa" - "soap"). I did not understand big thing. It is difficult to explain why I bought my first SLR. Perhaps curiosity. The desire to try something new. The opportunity to see the world from a different angle, a different perspective.

What do you like in this form of expression?

I like it because it allows me to create. It's hard to imagine my life without photography. It is indispensable to me as much as air. I breathe through photography! Photography provides additional vector in my personal development. It gives me the opportunity to meet new and interesting people.

What are the themes that you like to photograph?

Portraits, nudes and documentary photography.

What are you looking to share through your photography?

I would like to show people the way they are. I wish to show the beauty without artifice.

What is your idea of sensuality?

Feelings and sensuality are all around us. Sensuality is everywhere. I think that sensuality is a more or less inseparable from each photo. Each person perceives a way that its own. We are human beings and our characteristic is precisely to have feelings. We are not robots and that's great. That is why, for me, sensuality is an important element in my photography.

What photographers fascinate and / or inspire you?

Photographers who do not remain fixed and advancing inspire me, those who are experimenting, creating, etc ... and because above all photography is an art. At the same time, film inspires me with the same power.

How do you prepare a session of shooting?

This is different each time. Sometimes I think long enough about the subject. I imagine. And other times, on the contrary, sometimes I have a spontaneous idea, a concept, a subject.

What (s) camera (s) do you use ?

A Canon EOS 5D Mark II and a Kiev 60.

What (s) techniques do you prefer?

I only need a camera and a model. I prefer to take photos in natural light even if sometimes I use an artificial additional light. There are no particular secret in my way of doing.

How and why did your photography changed?

The artistic process - it is an infinite path. Art always changes depending on various factors. Otherwise it is the stagnation. The cinematography influences me as well as communication with other people in other places.

What brings you the internet media?

Internet provides the ability to communicate, share his art, his world view, to know the work of other photographers. Internet also offers the opportunity to meet new people as well as models. Internet allows to find documents to learn.

What do you expect from a website like Sensual Photography?

Positive emotions.

What are your plans?

I would like to take part in several master classes. Learn new methods of treatment of photography. Maybe move to another city.
